The backstory
HyperWrite marketed itself as an AI writing assistant and personal agent, wrapping a language model in autocomplete, rewrite tools and browser automation. That's a thin layer over capabilities the underlying model already has, and free ChatGPT plus user-built custom GPTs do the same jobs better and cheaper. It was killed because there's little reason to pay for a wrapper when the thing it wraps is available directly for free, with a bigger ecosystem and faster model updates behind it.
