The backstory
LongShot's differentiator was a fact-check step bolted onto GPT output: search the web, verify claims, insert citations. A genuinely good idea in 2023. ChatGPT Search shipped the same behaviour natively in late 2024 with better retrieval and inline sources, and Perplexity had already made it the default experience. When your unique feature becomes the base model's default behaviour, there is nothing left to charge for.
