Segment
Customer data platform that collects events once and fans them out to every downstream tool.

Keep paying — Google has not replaced it

The backstory
Segment sits between your app and every analytics, ads and CRM destination, normalising events so each tool gets the same data. AI can generate mapping code, and warehouse-first rivals argue the whole hop is unnecessary. What keeps Segment installed is the enormous catalogue of maintained destinations and the cost of re-plumbing a live pipeline. Integration maintenance is unglamorous work nobody wants to bring in-house.
