The backstory
Printify let anyone sell custom merchandise without inventory by routing orders to a network of printers. Generative AI should have been pure upside, since designing a product became free. It cut the other way: when everyone can generate a thousand designs an hour, marketplaces flood with near-identical products, discovery collapses and margins follow. The platform still processes real volume, and the seller economics underneath it got materially worse.
