The backstory
Ghost is open-source software for publishing blogs and newsletters with paid memberships and subscriptions built in. AI content tools can draft posts, but Ghost was never selling the writing; it sells the infrastructure: a fast, self-hostable platform that owns your audience, handles payments and delivers email. Since that plumbing is what creators actually depend on and it can be run for free, generative writing is complementary, not a substitute, so Ghost survived.
