The backstory
Canva is an all-in-one design platform with millions of templates, brand kits, and a Magic Studio full of AI tools, used by everyone from students to marketing teams. GPT-4o's native image generation can make graphics from a prompt, which sounds like a threat. But Canva survived because design is rarely one image: it is templates, brand consistency, collaboration, and export at scale. Rather than fight the model, Canva bundled more AI into a workspace people already work inside.
