Wiz
Agentless cloud security that maps attack paths across an entire cloud estate.
why this verdict
Keep it — Google has not replaced it
Google's version overlaps, but does not finish the security job, so this one is still worth keeping open.
- A named launch, not a vibe named, unlinked
- Cloud providers bundling native security posture management into their own platforms. Google, July 29, 2025 — no announcement link recorded yet.
- How much of the job it covers not the job editorial call
- Parts of it. The job still needs the tool to get finished.
- Is there a free way to do it? yes
- 2 of 3 listed replacements have a usable free tier: Aikido Security and Prowler.
- What the call is worth nothing to cancel

The backstory
Wiz became the fastest-growing security company in history by removing the agent: it scans cloud workloads from snapshots and shows the actual attack path an intruder would take rather than a list of ten thousand undifferentiated findings. Google's acquisition of it settled the question of whether hyperscaler-native tooling would win. Multi-cloud reality is why it keeps mattering, since almost no large enterprise runs on exactly one cloud, and a single-cloud security tool cannot see the rest.
