The backstory
v0 is Vercel's tool for generating UI and React components from a prompt, then iterating on them visually. ChatGPT with Canvas can produce code too, but v0 is wired into Vercel's stack with a tight generate-preview-deploy loop and framework-aware output. It survived because that integrated path from prompt to shipped, hosted front end keeps it ahead of raw code generation that stops at a code block.
