Streamlit
Turns Python scripts into shareable web apps without any front-end code.
why this verdict
Keep it — Anthropic has not replaced it
Anthropic's version overlaps, but does not finish the data & BI job, so this one is still worth keeping open.
- A named launch, not a vibe named, unlinked
- Coding agents building full web apps, removing the need for a Python-only UI shortcut. Anthropic, July 8, 2025 — no announcement link recorded yet.
- How much of the job it covers not the job editorial call
- Parts of it. The job still needs the tool to get finished.
- Is there a free way to do it? yes
- 3 of 3 listed replacements have a usable free tier: Gradio, marimo and v0.
- What the call is worth nothing to cancel
- No paid entry tier tracked, so there is no subscription to cancel.

The backstory
Streamlit exists because data scientists could not write React, and it turned that constraint into a few lines of Python producing a usable interface. Coding agents can now write the React, which theoretically removes the reason it exists. In practice the opposite happened: Streamlit became the default way to put a front end on an AI prototype, because a model writes a correct Streamlit app in one shot far more reliably than it writes a working front-end project.

gradio.app open_in_newReactive notebooks that also deploy as apps
marimo.io open_in_newGenerate a real front end instead
