The backstory
Sim is a visual builder for agent workflows with routers, loops, guardrails and a thousand-plus integrations, open source under Apache 2.0 and self-hostable. OpenAI now ships its own agent-building toolkit that keeps teams inside the platform they already pay for. Sim is wounded because that bundling takes the easy customers, but self-hosting, model neutrality and the open licence keep it alive for teams avoiding lock-in.
