The backstory
Riverside records podcasts and video interviews by capturing high-quality audio and video locally on each participant's device, avoiding the mush of a normal video call. Whisper-grade transcription and AI editing are cheap now, but those are features, not the foundation. Riverside survived because the local-recording quality is the moat: studio-grade files a chatbot cannot produce after the fact. AI editing sits on top of that capture; it does not replace it.
