The backstory
OBS Studio is the free, open-source backbone of live streaming: scenes, sources, filters and encoder control. AI tools automate clipping, captioning and reframing, but none of them replace the capture and broadcast layer underneath. Its plugin ecosystem and price of zero make displacement close to impossible. AI added things people do with OBS output rather than replacing OBS.
