The backstory
Mux is the video infrastructure developers reach for when they need streaming inside their own product rather than an embedded YouTube player, with encoding, adaptive delivery and quality-of-experience analytics behind one API. Cheaper bundled options exist, but the AI video wave works in Mux's favour: every tool generating clips needs somewhere to store, transcode and serve them, and that demand grew far faster than the price pressure below it.
