The backstory
Merlin is a browser extension that gives you a shared credit pool across several chat models, with YouTube summaries, web search and writing helpers. The pitch was cheaper access to models you would otherwise pay for individually. Free tiers from Google and others now cover the same tasks with better models and no credit anxiety, and video summaries appear directly under the video. Metered access to commodity inference is a hard business to hold.
