The backstory
Loom makes it easy to record your screen and voice and share an async video link, a staple for remote teams. Recording itself is trivial to replicate, and Loom's AI editing, titles and summaries now face free alternatives, while generated demo videos threaten the whole format. It's wounded because the differentiated AI features are commoditizing, though its Atlassian acquisition gave it real distribution inside Jira and Confluence, and the library plus viewer analytics still hold teams in.
