The backstory
Gradio is how a machine learning model becomes something you can send someone a link to, and its acquisition by Hugging Face made it the default demo layer for the entire open model ecosystem. Every Space on Hugging Face is essentially a Gradio app. Hosted playgrounds cover the simple case of trying a model, and Gradio's position is that researchers need a custom interface for their specific inputs and outputs, which a generic chat box cannot express.
