Svelte
Compiler-first UI framework that ships no runtime and updates the DOM directly.
why this verdict
Keep it for the workflow, not the AI
SolidJS and Vue cover the headline feature free, and the workflow around it is why you would still open this.
- A named launch, not a vibe named, unlinked
- LLMs writing far more idiomatic React than Svelte, because React dominates the training corpus. Anthropic, May 22, 2025 — no announcement link recorded yet.

- The headline feature, but not the workflow, data or integrations around it.
- Is there a free way to do it? yes

The backstory
Svelte moves the work of a framework into a compile step, so the browser downloads components rather than a reconciler. Developers who try it tend to love the ergonomics. The problem is generational: coding agents write React far more fluently because React is what the internet is made of, so choosing Svelte now means correcting the model more often. Svelte 5's runes narrowed the gap in capability while widening it in familiarity, and mindshare is the resource under pressure here, not the technology.
