Self-service platform for running containers, jobs and databases on your own cloud or theirs.
NOT REALLY
why this verdict
Keep paying — Anthropic has not replaced it
Anthropic's version overlaps, but does not finish the dev tools job, so this one still earns its $20/mo.
- A named launch, not a vibe named, unlinked
- Agents deploying straight to Vercel-style platforms and never meeting a container. Anthropic, August 12, 2025 — no announcement link recorded yet.
- How much of the job it covers not the job editorial call
- Parts of it. The job still needs the tool to get finished.
- Is there a free way to do it? paid only
- 3 replacements listed, all paid.
- What the call is worth $240/yr
- $20/mo at the entry paid tier — $240 a year per seat.

The backstory
Northflank sits in the gap between a PaaS that is too rigid and Kubernetes that is too much, giving teams preview environments, cron jobs, GPU workloads and managed databases without hiring a platform engineer. Zero-config deploy targets take the simplest apps away from it. What flows toward it is the opposite end: agent-generated services that need real runtimes, background workers and per-branch environments, which is exactly the shape it was built for.
