The backstory
Nhost bundles Postgres, Hasura GraphQL, authentication, storage and functions into a Firebase-style backend that is fully open source. It is a well-constructed product that had the misfortune of competing with Supabase, which reached escape velocity in the same category with more funding, a larger community and better timing. In developer infrastructure the leader compounds through tutorials, templates and what models were trained on, and second place is a very quiet place.
