The backstory
Netlify is a web hosting and deploy platform for modern front-end sites, handling builds, CDN, previews and serverless functions. Prompt-to-app tools now bundle their own hosting, threatening to hide the deploy layer. But Netlify survived because it remains the underlying infrastructure those very tools often deploy onto, and serious teams still want its build pipeline, edge network and control rather than a black-box host baked into a builder.
