NOT REALLY
why this verdict
Keep it — Anthropic has not replaced it
Anthropic's version overlaps, but does not finish the legal job, so this one is still worth keeping open.
- A named launch, not a vibe named, unlinked
- AI contract drafting making bespoke agreements cheap enough that standards seem unnecessary. Anthropic, June 25, 2025 — no announcement link recorded yet.
- How much of the job it covers not the job editorial call
- Parts of it. The job still needs the tool to get finished.
- Is there a free way to do it? paid only
- 3 replacements listed, all paid.
- What the call is worth nothing to cancel
- No paid entry tier tracked, so there is no subscription to cancel.

The backstory
Common Paper publishes free standard agreements for software sales, so a startup can send a cloud service agreement that a buyer's counsel recognises rather than a bespoke document that triggers a three-week redline. AI can draft a custom contract instantly, which sounds like it removes the need for standards. It does the opposite: the bottleneck was never drafting, it was the other side's lawyer reading it, and a recognised standard is the only thing that shortens that.
