bolt.new turns a prompt into a running web app entirely in the browser, wiring up the code, a live preview, and one-click deploy without any local setup. Agentic coding CLIs from the AI labs can generate the same code, but they assume you have a terminal, a repo, and the know-how to run it. Bolt survived because the full build-preview-deploy loop in one browser tab is the differentiator for people who don't want to touch a dev environment.
